Propal produces fine papers for the printing industry, writing and office supplies using sugar cane fiber, a sub-product of the sugar cane industry, as its basic raw material. This is a fibrous resource, optimum for producing high quality paper that favorably competes with papers produced from wood fibers. Propal was founded in 1957 by W.R. Grace and Co. In 1961, International Paper Company became one of its main shareholders. In 1997, both companies sold their shares in the company and in 2004 Propal becoming part of the Carvajal Organization. |
